Baptism is a symbol of surrendering your life to Jesus. Going underwater signifies dying to your old way of living, and coming up out of the water (don’t worry everyone gets out of the water too!) symbolizes the new life found in Jesus.

 

There’s nothing special about the water, or the tub, or the setting. What makes baptism significant is that its done by someone who wants to publicly declare they are aligning their lives with Jesus.
